History
Mahdavi Motorsports has an extensive racing history. They have done professional drag racing for five years. In that time they set multiple records and won a championship. Their first year out with our new car, they missed the first three races. Then they had to play catch up. They dialed in the RHD Supra all year long, projecting it towards a first year championship. They won three races that year. The second year they were in first place most of the season, with GM in second place. Then an unfortunate thing occurred, their motor they were running for a season and a half blew half way through the second year. Then they installed a new motor, made some changes and came in second place for the year. They held first place throughout most the season, and finished in the top three at all but two events. GM beat them towards the end of the season, and they got runner up.
Mahdavi Motorsports has also been fortunate enough to have the Famous Las Vegas strip closed while they did a real deal burn out for national television right before a street drag race; all the while the Las Vegas police had the traffic under control, and watching. It was a cool experience and will probably never be allowed again.
Mahdavi Motorsports has also had the opportunity to get invited to the 2005 King of Streets competition at the NMRA nationals for a street car competition they hold each year. This show is covered in the 5.0 magazine. The goal is to build the ultimate street car. One that can both perform like a beast, and drive like a Cadillac on the streets when need be. MM built a beast of a mustang. A convertible with twin 67mm turbos placed underneath each headlight. This car produced 689hp at 14psi on pump gas, capable of a thousand on race gas and added boost. It’s one of the most reliable street cars they have built. They entered the show with the car after only having 48 hours to put it all together before we had to leave for the show. They came in 4th place, not bad for such a fast build. The car is still on the streets 5 years later.
Mahdavi Motorsports was a long time sponsor for the NOPI nationals held at the Atlanta motor Speedway for the last ten years. They always had some of the most popular show and street cars entered at the event. In 2006 MM brought home the “Best Engineered” trophy for their genius, championship, rare RHD MKIII 2JZ powered Supra. They took home those honors after winning the championship in their series the previous year with that car.
Their final year in racing, Mahdavi Motorsports took on a second car and driver on their team. This was good for MM so they can prove that they can to take it to next level when need be. They took a 1995 MKIV Toyota supra to the 8 second class. Dan Dixon and his 1995 Supra beat MM’s rival, AAP in Englishtown NJ, with an 8.70 ¼ pass. The MM two car team was very competitive running the fastest trap speed in NDRA’s street class at 171mph. They also set a record with their RHD MKIII by toting the front wheels on 35 series 17” tires. They also have the record for the fastest stock automatic transmission ¼ pass in a Toyota supra. Mahdavi Motorsports has proven time and again that when it comes time to play, they’re in uniform ready for anything being handed to them.
